I Built An OUTDOOR SHOWER in our backyard! You need this!
I built an Outdoor Shower for our backyard! And I’m obsessed. It’s really amazing how wonderful it is to have summer showers outdoors, day or night. I keep finding excuses to go out and use it.
The DIY video covers the whole process from framing the cedar structure, adding in a natural stone floor and then adding in the easy plumbing. Also, check out a great tip to protect wood posts from decay and rot. And bonus for us - this shower now blocks our unsightly side yard!
🔥 UPDATE! I have now added hot water to this shower. See that project HERE 🔥
And quick note that I have build plans with a cut list, material list and assembly instructions if you are interested in building this project yourself!
I built the shower on the side of our house, just past the Stock Tank Pool. This side of our house is unsightly. Our AC unit is over here and it has become a spot for stuff to collect (pool floats, kayaks, broken terra cotta pots that need to be dealt with). It’s so nice to float in the pool, but it’s always been a frustration to look over here.
And here is the view now! Gorgeous cedar walls, limestone pavers, plants… and the most refreshing shower! My favorite towels go so well with it! And as I mentioned, it hides the AC and other stuff we don’t want to look at.
I love taking a cool summer shower when the sun peeks in and warms my head.

🔥 HOT WATER UPDATE 🔥
I finally added HOT WATER to our shower. And the update involves no plumbing! I’m still amazed at how simple and easy the process was. We can now enjoy our spa-like outdoor shower well into the cooler months. See this hot update HERE!
